Schedule for Show #1 – Jan. 27 and 28

Friday will be a normal rehearsal schedule.

  • The plan is to catch up the people who were gone last weekend (again), practice getting on/off the floor, and get some good reps in.
  • We will load the truck and clean up Friday night. I’ll have more info on this process on Friday night.

Saturday

6:15 – wake-up, breakfast, load vans
7:00 – roll out
9:00 – arrive at show, unload truck, set up in the lot
10:00 – warm-up
11:26 – bring the heat
11:40 – load truck
12:30 – retreat (captains only)
1:30 – roll out (stop for lunch)
4:30 – arrive at CHS, unload

A few notes:

Obviously, we will be waking up early… and a long day will follow. You need your sleep in order to be on your game for our first show.

We will be taking two vans to the show. I’ll be driving one, and a parent will be driving the other.

Wear your blue jeans, black shirt, etc… when we load up on Saturday morning. There won’t be time to change clothes, and we won’t have a lot of extra space on the vans for extra clothes.

This is our first impression for the year. Last year doesn’t matter. Let’s make sure we represent ourselves well in every aspect of what we do. How you act in the vans, loading/unloading the truck, in the parking lot, in the bathrooms, in the stands watching other shows, at retreat, everywhere… is important. How we act off the floor has just as much bearing on our overall success as how well we play diddles.

Let’s keep in classy… and keep in professional. I know you know this.. and I probably didn’t even need to remind you. But better safe than sorry, right?

Lastly: I expect us to do well this weekend. You should expect it, as well. We’ve had a good start to the season. You’ve worked hard and we are prepared. That being said, no matter how the scores end up, we will (again) be classy and professional. Celebrate victory. Be disappointed in a loss. But do either one well. I don’t think i need to explain how to do that.

It’s show weekend! Make sure you’re taking care of your stuff, have everything thing you need for the weekend, and let’s rock on roll.
