2011 Season Recap

CI Front Ensemble Pre-finals Rehearsal 2011

For the 2011 members and staff of the Chattanooga Independent Percussion Ensemble, everything fell into place at just the right time. One of the keys to achieving success in this activity is understanding that the competitive season isn’t a sprint. It’s a marathon in which the best conditioned group is left standing at the end of the journey to reap the benefits. CI 2011 is proof of this.

Resilient members overcame various forms of adversity in a season that culminated in a powerful showing at the WGI World Championships in Dayton, OH. CI brought home the silver medal in Independent A Class competition (with a score of 94.313). This result is a testament to the character of the performing members and the knowledge and commitment of the instructional staff. The 2011 production, “Framed,” truly came to life on the floor in Dayton.
